Jamaica is the best for food. Mutton and rice, Ackee and salt fish, fried dumplings. Plantain. Lovely fresh fish steam fish, Escovieth fish, festival and Bammi. Hellshire Beach a little fishing area in Portmore St Catherine does some great fish and festival; particularly active on weekends, the place Kingstonians go to Picnic, chill and party.

More food the famous Jamaican patty!! ‘Mothers’ patty, Tastee Patty, and Juicie Beef Patty so many to choose from, all situated in different parts of the island.

For fast food forget MacDonald’s and Kentucky, try Island Grill fast food with the Caribbean touch!

Oh and the fresh fruits you just can not get enough of them, well known ones such as pineapples, mangos, Starfruits, and star apples and as a result of my visits to Jamaica I discovered new ones such as Ortanniques, Ginneps, Neasberrys, and Jackfruit.

Also close to Ocho Rios along the roadside are montages of food stalls called Faith Pen. Selling various fruits in season and you can sample the delights of Jerk, and Soups.
